first generation efi motors

I would like to know how easy is it to bolt a carb to a motor in an 83
lincoln towncar

No problem there. You need a intake manifold, carb and fuel regulator.

Well, It's not quite that much. The CFI intake is basically the same as the carb
intake. You will have to remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank (it's part of the
fuel sender asy)and modify the mount to make up for it. You will then need to remove
most of the electronics and CFI related vacuum devices from the engine and try to
figure out how to make the non- CFI stuff work, like cruise control, climate control,
and the other vacuum controlled Lincoln goodies likr the Ebrake release, EATC, etc.
In other words, it's not worth the trouble. It's much easier to repair the CFI. What
is wrong with yours. There is a wealth of information available at
www.lincolnsonline.com. As far as getting repair parts, Ebay will be your best friend
for an 83 Town Car. Those early 80's lincolns are great rides. Mine is an 84 Mark VII.
They don't make good work cars or everyday cars for folks on a really tight budget.
