Ford Credit

I have a buyer for my Ford Taurus and there is a lien from Ford Credit.
How do I transfer the title/get the lien removed quickly? Ford Credit
is closed today, so I was hoping someone would know.

Thanks.

Nothing can be done until FC is paid off, releases the lien and title
anyway, so you might as well wait till tomorrow.

I'm thinking it will be fairly straightforward, and they will know exactly
the easiest way... although they'll probably try to sell the buyer a loan.

Ford Credit has the lien. Only Ford Credit can release the
lien, thereby releasing the title for transfer, after the note
is paid off with cleared funds.

Call Ford Credit during business hours Monday and ask what
you must do to obtain a clear title as quickly as possible.

There is often a lien payoff involved in the sale of a car.
A reasonable buyer will understand the paperwork involved
and will cooperate with patience. If the buyer pressures
you to deliver the car before completing the financial work,
be suspicious. If you decide to go ahead, be sure to get
100% CASH in advance and have a written agreement for
the transaction defining your rights and responsibilities.

Good luck.

Rodan.

Must get FC to release the vehicle lien. It's a very simple thing
which they do nearly every day. Documentation can be faxed.
The process is pretty much the same with any lien holder. They really
don't care as long as the get paid.
