Help is needed
I have venture van it runs well but sometimes the engine starts to make
a sound I do not know the exact name for that sound but it is the same
sound wehen you go in the reverse direction or like the soud comming
from the electrical chair for handicaps

Does any one know any reason for this?
My van is 2000 with less than 80000 millege!

You're in luck.. Chevy dealers have service depts and they are everywhere!

Fords, OTOH, usually dont make any noise in reverse they dont make going
forward.

So I have no idea what you mean, perhaps if you hum a few bars....

What I mean by the reverse is like sound in stick shifta cars if you go
reverse for long distance you hear specific sound.

I know the "Chevy dealers have service depts and they are everywhere!"
but I am asking for other peopl experience before going for that.

meaning, i assume, a gear 'howl' or groan.

I googled for a proper forum to pass onto you... but all that came up was a
lot of restoring sites, unlike the ford-truck.com which covers mini-vans
too.

So I guess that it's all in your head.. Chevvies dont break.

It would be in the trans or the differential, whatever. Almost certainly
gear mis-alignemtn but probably not fatal, at least till you hear it going
forward.
