TIPPY

What would cause the batt. light to come on AND the car car to
"lope" when idling on a 1989 grand marquis? It goes from 600 rpm to
1000 rpm when idling in two seconds, continuously. Is this the voltage
regulator? :?
HELP!

The battery light comes on because the engine rpm drops too low to turn the
alternator fast enough to put out sufficient voltage. The problem is most
likely a vacuum hose.
