Proposed Class Action Settlement - Ford's Defective Intake Manifolds

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE PROPOSED CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT FOR DEFECTIVE
INTAKE MANIFOLDS

According to the Notice of Proposed Settlement Of Class Action and
Settlement Fairness Hearing received by probably millions of people
recently, Ford has agreed to reimburse Class Members who have previously
paid to replace a composite intake manifold on a Class Vehicle. The catch
is that the replacement must have occurred within the first seven years
of vehicle operation.Ē (View at notice at
www.fordmanifoldsettlement.com).

It has been noted on several websites that the manifolds tend to fail at
around 100,000+ miles. While, fleet cars and polices vehicles could reach
this mileage within seven years, many insurers estimate that the average
driverís yearly mileage is around 12,000 miles. Itís evident then that
many of the Ford manifolds might not fail until perhaps more than nine
years after the initial operation of the vehicle. Our manifold failed
after 7 years and 6 months. How convenient for Ford!

Many people have received this notice, but may not be aware that they may
not able to benefit from this proposed settlement. You have to read the
notice very carefully to fully understand the proposed settlement. I am
sure that many who receive the notice will believe that they are covered
by the proposed settlement simply because their cars fall within the class
years. Please pass this information on so that if anyone wishes to opt out
and pursue other action they will have the opportunity to do this before
the September 27, 2005 deadline. If they do not opt out they will be
precluded from bringing a claim against Ford.
