You might have kick the brake pedal when you put the key in. For some model
car it is very sensitive.
It is part of the security feature, the engine will stop when the brake
applied.
you said you can start from remote, I do not think anything wrong with the
remote starter.
Try this, with the engine running (start by key), give a 'start' command
from the remote, now you should be
able to turn off & remove the key with the engine still running, if the
remote is working properlly.
Be sure your foot is not on the brake pedal while you doing this test.
BTW what is the make of your remote starter ?Don't you have a manual? Some
manufacturers
provide one from their web site.
