1995 explorer dies when.............

My 1995 explorer is difficult to start, after city driving. The idle
rpm drops real low and it will die if the accelerator is not pressed.
I can drive it but when I come to a stop the rpms fall low and it
tries to die. This does not happen every time it is driven but I
assume it will get worse. This is a new problem. It has only happened
after I drive in-town, kill it and then re-start it after a few
minutes. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you for your time.

(The explorer has been running on low fuel for most of the time in the
past 10 months.)

Your symptoms sound like the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve is sticking. It is
located on top of the engine between the filter and the engine itself and
regulates intake air to control idle speed. Look for an aluminum colored
device with an electrical connection and a "knob" looking thing on the side.
You can easily remove it and try to clean it, or just replace it. The part
is available through the dealer or many auto parts places.
