I would be thinking rear abs sensor. I have not worked on a first gen, but
people usually remove it and clean it, make sure the connections are in
decent shape, and some people change the diff fluid, which is a good thing to
do if it hasn't been done in many moons.
Not that expensive to replace.
No reset button. If the warning indicator is on, the system thinks it has a
problem, otherwise its off.
