OK folks...Here's the skinny. How do you get your hood open when your
latch is completly ****ed??? I have remove the front bolt from the
latch rod (I guess thats what you would call it) but to no avail. I
can't seem to get the one latch to open. HELP!!!!

Spray WD-40 into it and keep working the latch to unfreeze it. Worked on
mine.

Re: 68' Mustang Hood Latch Question....

Put your hand on the hood right above where the latch is and push down a
little while you're squeezing the latch.

Re: 68' Mustang Hood Latch Question....

Let me explain a little deeper...
I had shut the hood after checking fluids, I pulled up on the hood to
make sure it was latched. Got about 2 blocks from home when hood pops
open at about 35 MPH. Pulled off on to a side street got out took a
quick look at the hood to see if any damage had happened
none visible beside the hood being unaligned near the window end. Shut
the hood again and this time even stood on the bumper and tried to
pull the hood up. Got it home and tried to open the hood. No Go.
Next day in daylight notice that one of the hood latches looked bent
back and it seems to keep the other latch from releasing from the
latch rod. I believe the latch mechanism is shot and am trying to just
get the thing unlatched so I can go and get a new latch.
