Can anyone reccomend a good set of headers for my 351 W that won't
interfere with the steering components? This is for my 70 mustang
fastback 4 speed.

Tire question? Will I be able to put 255-50 in the back and 225-50 in
the front?
I want to fill out the wheel well. This car will have all new
suspension.
Will this look good on 17 -8 magnum 500 rims? Should I go smaller rim
size in the front?

Any decent set of headers will interfere with the steering ram on a PS car.
All you need is the drop bracket for like $25-30. No big deal.

Well seeing as the Boss cars pretty much came from the factory with 235/60's
all around, I would say that those will fit, depending on the wheel diameter
(they were 14" from the factory). Hell I had 295/50 15's on the rear of my
'69 till I punched a hole in one.

I wouldn't try a 17x8 in front.

A 17x 8 will work fine on the front. Just pay attention to the backspacing
of the wheel.

I have 235/45-17's on 17 x 8's front and rear on a '65 with rolled
fender lips all around. A '70's wheelhouses are much bigger, so you
might not need to roll the fenders. My rims have a 5.0 back space.
It's better to go with too much BS and use a spacer to move the wheel
out (I have to run a 7/32" on the fronts), than to have too little.
There's nothing you can do about too little, other than flare the
fenders.

I have hedman hedders full-lengths (I believe they're 1 5/8 primaries)
on a '70 Cougar with a 351 Cleveland with 2v heads, and needed no PS
ram mount extender. But a Windsor might be apples and oranges. Like
Scott said, the worst that can happen is you need to add the extender
later.

Sept or Oct issue of Mustang Monthly has all the info you need. Sizes,
widths, backspacings, etc.
