Im looking into options for connecting my ipod to the radio.. people
say most of the FM transmitters are no good, has anyone hardwired it to
the radio? is it easy? can I do it myself? Thanks.

Re: Connecting Ipod ... 2005

I rode in a friends car from Tucson to Las Vegas using an FM
transmitter and there were no problems.

I use Sirius sat radio and it's FM transmitter only supports a limited
number of channels. None of which are available in my area.

Walmart and other stores, offer the

Belkin Tunecast II FM Transmitter, F8V3080-APL-W

that will allow you to tune your radio to ANY station. I plan on
getting one to try it with the Sat radio. It is supposed to be designed
specifically for the ipod.

Just get an ITrip. They work great!

I've heard some good things about the iTrip (FM unit for the iPod).
It's a lot better than those useless $9.95 one-size-fits-all units
that you see everywhere. I've played with my friend's iTrip; it's
very well made, and I think it's a good buy.

... so good, in fact, that I just bought one on eBay this afternoon.

Cheers!

Re: Connecting Ipod ... 2005

I have both the Belkin and the iTrip- I like the iTrip better.
There are ways to hardwire the iPod but on the CD6 head they don't work
unless you go about and jury-rig the wiring.

Check out http://www.pie.net/index.cfm

They are currently ramping up production on an iPod interface for the Aux
button on the Shaker 500/1000 steroes. THere is great talk on
allfordmustang.com and themustangsource.com about this setup.

One of the members on TMS allowed P.I.E. use their car as a test car.
