Current gasprices in Norway - for those interested :)

The current price of a gallon of gas here in Norway, where I live, is now
about 8$... Not cool.

Not at all. But what's the economic environment like over there?
Considering some of the issues Americans talk about, what's your
health care like? How much vacation per year do you get? What kind
of job would one hold if they were making $100k/year? How much tax
gets taken out of that salary?

Whenever I hear about gasoline prices in other countries, I can't help
but wonder what the other economic factors are.

Have you got 3 trillion barrels of your own oil? Canada does.
So why does it continue to suffer under high gasoline prices?
Same reason every other country that does, does; The government.
Our country is 3000 miles across and most people drive at least
25,000km per year. Of course, we could always ride trains like
Europeans, or buses, but I'd rather hang myself. My car was being
worked on at Ford, and I decided to take a bus-subway home, just out
of curiosity's sake. The trip was 14km and entailed riding two buses
and one subway. It took almost an hour, in light traffic. Time by
car? 12 minutes.
