A buddy of mine got a hair up his ass and went and bought himself a 65
Ford School Bus. On EBAY for $800 in Indiana from Az no less. So after a
torturous 3 weeks and making the constantly breaking down haul he made it
back recently. He had a stop over in Iowa and had to tear down the motor and
do a partial overhaul. I don't have the full details on what was done but it
wasn't cheap doing his own labor. He managed to get about 8 miles a gallon
on the way home with a tired 330. His intents are to shove in a turbo deisel
when he gets the cash after licking the wounds the drive cost. He got a
ticket in Kansas for driving home the bus with the bill of sale and no
registration and needs to appear in court no ifs ands or buts. He's called
and talked to the judge who said he has to show in person or pay a lawyer to
appear which is more than the ticket to start with.
Here's a link to it.
It has since been stripped on the inside and he intends on putting in work
studios and using it as a mobile inking studio. The body is galvanized and
shows no real rust damage but the fenders, hood, and front are toast. The
tires are also trashed if anyone would know of a good spot to start
searching. I know this isn't the normal run of the mill for the group but
it's the prefered spot for me to find leads at the moment. This is the same
guy with the gasser so I can only imagine what his intents are for this in
the long run.

What an asshole cop. Couldn't cut him a break even though he just bought the
thing and was driving it home.

It's nothing if not charming. But...
Lessons:
1) Never expect a cop to cut you a break, and you will never be
disappointed.
2) Never trust an old school bus. I know this from experience.
3) School buses are available locally.
I'da died from profanity poisoning if I had attempted that stunt!
Statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting blame upon the nation that is
attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing
falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any
refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that
the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys
after this process of grotesque self-deception.- Mark Twain
"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to do the bidding

exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." -

Small towns live on non-local ticket enforcement. Plus the sub-70 he bought
the bus from happened to sign the wrong year, 2004.

Nothing that old and that cheap. But that doesn't matter now considering

It's surprising what holes those things pop out of.

Ah, yes. A statement that is at the core of Defensive Driving. I call it
"which one of these guys is gonna do something stupid". Keeps ya on yer
toes in traffic.
BTW, sometimes, the stupid thing commiter is my own self.

We all make mistakes but I keep myself entertained and awake while driving
by playing "count the idiots". Ricers weaving in and out of traffic, people
who don't know how a four way stop is supposed to work, etc.
