The Beast

Nothing special here, just some pics of the 4x4 I'll be parting out.

http://members.dancris.com/~cobrajet/4x4

728 - Overall, with Torina at the ready to check chassis details
729 - 460 with fresh gaskets and green <cough> paint. Not many miles
since friggled with, if any. Not a rebuild, but runs well. Carter is
625 cfm on Performer intake. Exhaust manifolds are air-injected type.
731 - Ford 10.25" rear, in this case a 3.55 Trac-Lok. 12 cover bolts.
733 - Looks like a Dana pattern up front. I cleaned off the housing
to the left side and found a 3.54 amongst several numbers. 10 bolts.
734 - Counterweight behind balancer makes this a later external
balance 460 and most likely the original engine. Oil pan is rear sump
that the Fox body guys need to use for a 385 swap.
735 - New American-made solenoid. Never seen one in white; must be
worth at least 5 horsepower.
736 - Trick interior. Tilt column had some broken small part. I
snagged the truck before seller's friend/mechanic could fix it. Tinted
windshield is flawless; rear glass is MIA.

If it was just closer I would take all the body, mine is pretty rusty and
bent up, mine only has 52000 on it but they are hard miles. I call it my
light duty tractor. It only comes out when there is work to be done. I
would like the trachion lock rear but can`t really justify the shipping
cost. You bring it here and I will take what ever you don`t want. :)

As a aside an old neighbor of mine lives in your area.(I know big area)
John Thompson, he does some drag racing with a small block mustang, it is
in the 9s now I think he said. I haven`t seen him in 15 years but his dad
kept me informed. I can`t remember where he works but has worked on some
pretty high zoot stuff, even for some celebs he says. If you happen
across him say hi. (he was home for his dads funeral is how I got to see
him) I think he said he was working on a 67 stang to race now. KB

Nice cat:) The front axle looks to be a Dana 50. Could not see enough of the
rear axle. hat you going to do with the engine?

Gee, weren't you the guy that didn't need any parts? :) When you get
down to it, the only thing this truck needs to get roadworthy is the
steering column fixed and a C6 rebuild. Add a bed and a rear window and
you're stylin'. The A/C appears complete; might even work. I have a
clear AZ title.

I'll probably sell both axles as a matched pair, but I'm not going
to ship them anywhere. As popular as 4x4's are around here, I should be
able to parts it out locally. If I had time to burn on road trips, I'd
come out and visit and bring whatever.

I've been looking at the old truck and parts market throughout the
U.S. for the past several months. I see guys going nuts over shitboxes
on Ebay that would be used for target practice in this neighborhood. I
could buy old trucks all day long wthout driving over 10 or 15 miles to
get them. Hmm.

Yes, it is a big area, but I'll keep the '67 in mind. Lurking in
some Webside locales, I've figured out there are at least a half-dozen
guys posting in on-topic forums that run their cars at my area tracks.
At some point I'm going to try and hook up with that group.

Thanks. She's a Maine Coon mix and holds the house record at 31
consecutive fetch-and-returns.

Is the Dana 50 typically a front axle? It's not in that axle guide I
posted a link to. The rear has already been ID'd as a 10.25 Ford with a
6250 load rating by fast Ed.

As for the engine, I'm not sure yet. If I can't sell the F-250
without an engine (and I'm fairly certain I can), I may pop this in
there and list it again. I'd rather not spend the time. So, it might be
a spare until whatever comes along. If someone needs it now I'd part
with it.
