Yeah, I'll help. Just bring it on over to my place in Atlanta and I'd be
happy to take a look at it for you.
We didn't do the "Off-Topic New Year's thread" last year. Would you like to
continue the tradition in this thread or should we start a new one?

I don't think an aluminum block is necessary for that power range.
Nor is a roller cam, really. I'd build around a 431-inch 390. If your
existing engine runs OK for now, I would take the sneaky route and hunt
around for 360 truck engine in a junkyard to build on the side. The
yard guys usually can't give those away. But, it will give you a
390-bore block that you can start building up a stroker on the side for
cheap without disabling the Mach.
I can probably spec out the whole motor for you.

Mighty kind of you. I could use the help. Don't expect me to move fast
though, hell, it's taken me 2 to 2.5 years to get where I am now. If you
disappear from here, like you are prone to do, how do I reach you?

Here's to a better year for all the Snakes.

Thanks, but I was basically seeing if anyone wanted to do some brake
tech in this group, but I guess not. The P/O changed out the single pot
cylinder for a dual that doesn't appear to be a Fjord piece. All the
brakes (drums) are completely rebuilt (haven't inspected yet, but he
did a good job on the rest of the car), but it doesn't stop fer shit.
And if I really lean on the pedal, one of the right side wheels locks
up. I need to figure if this m/c is corrrect for the application, as I
know the valving is different for all drum versus disc/drum. And/or
perhaps the proportioning valve is off. It really feels like the front
brakes aren't doing diddly.

Still sitting. Working as a mechanic for the last chunk of year has kept me
from wanting to wrench on things when I get home. The 69 has a eletrical
problem, carb issues and an oil leak on a fresh gasket setup. 73 still waits
for all fluids, belts, hoses, plus the hard to find equalizer bar bushings
for the BB.
