Insignificant milestone

"Not allowed: Discussing late model or non-Ford vehicles, except in a
derisive or demeaning manner."

Hear ye, hear ye! A miracle has occurred! A 1980s Ford car actually
did what many, many disgruntled and disillusioned owners of them have
thought utterly impossible, due to the fact many of them were simply
pieces of rolling crap that required excessive and frequent repairs to
every major system. And, the one question even did so its original
drivetrain!! Holy Piece of Shit, Batman!!

At precisely 12:35pm on November 2, 2005, at the intersection of I-270
and N. Lindbergh Blvd. in Hazelwood, Mo., the 1989 Ford Tempo GL 2-door
mockingly known as "The Silver Bullet" officially passed the
200,000-mile threshold.

I've been rounding up for months, but the sluggish old bastard finally
made it. I almost feel like tying it to a tree and shooting it now.
But because of the years of torture it has put me through, it will
receive at least another 22 months of righteous and hearty beatings
before this Dog's Breakfast of a car is finally disposed of in order to
acquire something more Worthy and befitting of its ThunderSnake owner.

A thread entitled "Pics of Shame" will be posted to ABPA this evening;
I will notify you, if you'd like to see what this many miles does to
one of these rolling disasters. If you know already, I empathize. If
you don't, I apologize in advance that I am compelled to show such a
thing on Usenet.
