The page could spell out more than one approach and speak concisely to the
ease, complexity, advantages, and disadvantages of each method.

"The freeze" is addressed in the posting rules. Folks that come in this way
can be informed of trolls and pointed to our preferred method of handling
them.

All very excellent advice! Bringing it up makes all that read it wiser, so
that effort goes beyond what many others have contributed, or not
contributed, and is much appreciated. Knowledge is power.

Re: Let's discuss an idea

I haven't seen any "show stoppers".

I think step 1 is find out who is interested in helping with this project.
I know Jason and I are in. It will be important to go at a pace that no one
gets burnt out. After all, this is a hobby and we all have other
responsibilities. Jason and I can pull it off by ourselves, but with other
folks it'll progress faster and there will be input which means a better end
product.

It's in it's infancy. Step 2 will be making and agreeing to a plan, I
think. We'll be flexible. It'll be dynamic and change as we go along. All
projects are.

Step 3 will be dividing up the work and "git 'r done".

Who wants to help?

CobraJet will you take on a adviser role? I'm sure Jason would agree that
that would be a big help.

Without a doubt. CJ, you said you didn't want to expend effort, but if
we could pick your brain now and again, it would be very helpful.

Re: Let's discuss an idea

Thanks Ken. Before a project is started, it needs a name. A good, catchy
name. That's what we need now. A project name.

I'll be thinking of what I suggest. Later.

I cannot help as far as page building goes. If you want my input you
need to go forth in a strightforward way. Right now WU has got me
confused as to what he's doing. No logical game plan, then count me
out.

No, I don't save links to generalized sites. Plus, I have 6 or 7
hundred bookmarks I imported from past browsers I need to organize.

I understand that.

All I'm doing is putting together the first pass at a webside face to
our group. Then I'll look into some of the interface ideas you
suggested. One step at a time.

No logical game plan, then count me

The game plan is evolving. The input you've given so far is valuable,
and appreciated. I believe John was asking you if you'd be willing to
provide input and guidance as it relates to our efforts to promote
higher visibility and increase on-topic discussion in this newsgroup.

One example - we don't know what builders and racers are doing these
days. We don't know what some of the current trends are, and why they
exist. You and others do. Hitting on those specific topics would
greatly help the overall goal of promoting this group.

WU and I have been casually chatting about this off and on, mostly off, for
a month or so. Yes, we do not have a firm, detailed game plan yet, but I
think we both know the general direction we'll be going.

Did you see how quickly Ken jumped at the chance to help! Wow. We need to
give it several days or so and see how many others want to help. That'll
determine how much we can do. Ten can do a lot more than 3. Once we know
who is a team player, and who isn't, we can get the team's input, flesh out
a straightforward plan, divvy up the work, and git 'r done.

Anyway, getting the AHPBBFM Pages cleaned and prettied up had to be done no
matter what, so WU got started early. You know how he's full of nervous
energy. Bless you Jason!
