O/T Humor at bowtie expence

Posted on JagLovers today.

In reply to a message from lockheed sent Wed 5 Oct 2005:

on another forum for pick up trucks/chev, I stated GM had bought
the patents from Ford to the 6 cyl Jag 4 liter!!! Wow did this
create a storm...I got all them Chevy people real mad....their
story was this was an engine GM has been making for 50 years which
had been upgraded with new head design.....it sure looked like a 4
liter jag to me ...strange all the horsepower & cubic inches were
the same...I just can't believe it was the old pushrod ''blueflame''
six of the 1950's,overhead valve std chev six...astounding. But it
sure did cause a lot of discussion.I would not convert to this
engine I would stay with an updated Jag six...like installing a 96
XJ6 in a 77-87 Jag....those engines are bullit proof.

The old Blue Flame six is what powers the old Toyota Landcruiser. Toyota
bought the whole engine line and moved it. Jeep bought the old Buick V6 line
and sold it back to Buick, who turned it into the 3800. Lots of parts
swapping goes on in the car business.
