Back in L.A. there was an Iranian guy who had a general auto repair
shop a few bays down from my alarm/stereo place. He basically
advertised to his fellow countrymen there. I swear, it was a riot to
watch these people do business. Without fail, any job was preceded by
30 to 60 minutes of haggling over the price in loud, 80-mile-an-hour
Farsi, usually outside where everyone else could hear. This was
standard procedure for their kind. You woulda thought they were about
to kill each other, then they'd laugh and pull the car inside. Unreal.
