Tonight, 9.575 @ 144.33. Something's wrong, it's busting up all the way
down. We leaned it out twice, and it never cleaned up. I'm going to pull the
plugs as soon as the weather permits. Also need to look at the valve train
and see if all is well. We cleared up one problem. The car was going to the
right on the launch. A few adjustments to the right side ladder bar
straightened it out. It's still on the wheelie bars a bit too hard.
Three new Mustang Cobra's showed up tonight. One '04 that appeared stock ran
12.995. He was Sunday shifting. Not to bad for street tires.

Meanwhile, I had a peek yesterday at a '55 Chevy 2-door for sale
locally. It was an unfinished drag car project that was sitting around
in a shed for about 10 years. New front frame clip with Mustang II
steering, discs, lift-off metal front end, narrowed and beefed 12-bolt,
6-point cage, no rust, no interior parts. Well worth the 3 grand price,
but lots of metal work and fabrication needed to make it a street car.
I'd prefer one still in stockish shape. I passed on it and he sold it
this morning for 4 grand.

Actually, I would rather have a high-winding Cleveland in there. You
know, something 327/350 Chevy-sized but much better. Stick. 4.57's.
Tunnel ram maybe. Black with flames. Diamond tuck. Chrome reverse.
