Went Junkyarding Today

I'm going to post pics on ABPA when I get them loaded and named properly.
Picked up an uncracked dash for Ed's 68 Cougar ( even I can't believe it) A
'63 Comet grille. I don't need one but I had to get it before some asshat
kicked it in. It is perfect. I picked up many sundry items. Including a
handful of those cool washer nozzles that go on your wiper arms. The hood
mounted ones on my daily driver just don't cut it so I'm going to retrofit
them. BTW you can find them on mid '70's full and mid size Fords/Mercs. A
couple Merc emblems and shit like that there. StuK

Impressive, even considering that where you live, the Sun only circles the
Earth about 150 days / year.

Sounds like a very productive trip.
Before I start my new job, I'm going to the big boneyard to see what I can
find....

Geez we're not that far up north! I was born around the 55th parallel. Here
we're under the 45th.

The amazing thing about that dash is the car has been open to the elements
for years.
I think the fact that it was not closed up kept the heat down on the
inside.
The biggest issue up here is that the interiors get kinda mossy after a
while. g^o

I have a shot of the car before I got it it off. Damn near every speed nut
busted loose.
Luckily my co-hort Pete had brought a hacksaw to cut the extraneous
bracketry.

It's a big deal in the winter trying to keep your windys clean! My biggest
beef is when you
have a cross wind you can't get the juice where you need it and the newer
cars have no glass trim so the
excess slobbers onto the side glass and fooks up yer side view. Bright sun
on a salt encrusted glass is no picnic.

Well the car with the most BBA there had to be the '69 Lincoln Town Coupe.
It's a shame it's in there.
It would make a kick ass custom and the 460 is still in it complete up to
the carb. Leather interior is complete but somewhat musty.
Someone snagged the steering wheel but the tilt column is there and it has a
bitchin looking dash and radio with antenna up and down
buttons!
We may make another pilgrimage as my buddy Pete who is a Mopar guy is
looking for an aluminum slant six intake and I found a few disc
equipped Mustangs and quite a few Granadas sporting spindles. If I could
just get a set of mini torches!

Lessee.. born at the 41st, live at the 37th. Nothing spectacular except the
change from a Marine climate to a Continental one. Too damned hot here.

Up at the 55th, now that's getting up there. That's where the Foggy Islands
are... wait... duh you told me that before.

I'd guess you're right. So the windows were not there, or open?? Good fer
you in that case. Rare to fine one intact.

Yeah... I can see that.

Bracketry, Trebek? But it is a good thing you brought that. I would have
been tempted, in my excitement, to risk breaking it without proper tools.
Glad you got it back intact.

Ugh. No, it isn't. Born in CT I understand, endlesh bloody schlop on the
Merritt / Hutch and 95. Yeah, I go through about a gallon a month of that
crap myself. Call me compulsive. And I am well aware of the problem which
you described. Some have deshign "flaws" which exacerbate this problem.

Oooohh... that is a shame indeed.

I saw a '67 Landau Coupe FS here (390 I think (?)), which I coveted very
muchly last week, all black, all leather, all power, all shiny. So damned
nice. It was mephistopheles's coupe. MAN, what a sweet frikkin ride.
Someday I'm just gonna go for it, then seek forgiveness later, whether I get
it or not. HA! "Come see what I just spend x grand on, sweetie"
