How about Bill S.? He's pretty darn knowledgeable after all.

Like Laurie S., I wonder if Bill S. (Hey! Any relation?) would do it. He's
got experience and knows a lot of FE history.
Bill S.? Interested?

I'd second that vote for Bill S. He's a long time pre AHPBBFM member
back in the days when RAMFM was actually useful. CJ could be an
honorary since this is his party regardless of who's serving the drinks
and lets not forget about our friends in the Great White North, eh?

I'll be happy to assist, however these days, I prefer to lurk in the
background. Only to pop in when something "on topic" is in my scope of
expertise.

That's cool. I did naturally think of you as well, but if you prefer to
keep a lower profile, it's certainly understood.
And right, it goes without saying that CJ holds an honorary or emeritus
status. I do like the metaphor, Mike, very fitting =)
So... whom else can we ask, or who else wants to volunteer? Yes, our
Canadian contingent hasn't been heard from too much lately. Gentlemen,
would you any of you deign honour our committee with your presence?
In any case, we need a solid third leg for the tripod. Surely there is
a good candidate in our ranks...

Big Al, what do you think of this committee idea? You are frequently giving
us great websites, information, and drag news on the OT car with the junk
yard 460 and several others.
Everyone, who was it that built the cobra kit car with the Keith Craft
aluminum sideoiler and an aluminum toploader? The memory is the second
thing to go . . .

John,
What was the first thing to go? The OT car with the junk yard engine is a
1967 Mustang fastback. Very on topic here.
Clue me in on what the committee would do? Is this going to be a moderated
newsgroup?

Knock on wood(ie) ;-) , the first thing to go on me was the hair. Yes, the
FB is definately on topic here. I was thinking of Pat's (?) camaro (?) with
the 460. Forgive me for not researching this, I have a nasty cold and I'm
counting the seconds til I fall into my lazyboy.
It'll be up to whoever is on the committee to determine if this NG is
moderated, how much it is moderated, or not moderated at all. It really
doesn't matter to me because I'm an on topic kind of guy, and I only
occassionally flame, joke, or **** with someone. I don't have that
spontaneous, fire red hair induced temper like Wound Up or CJ, but I enjoy
reading their rants and raves.
I don't think I'll volunteer. Not yet anyway. I could state the reasons,
but at the end of the day, I know it would not be best for the NG. There
are many folks who lurk and participate here that know a lot more than I
about BBs. You included. (stroke, stroke, stroke)
What's your stand on moderation? None, mild, medium, or heavy?

My view is we are here to promote the big block Ford engine, and some other
things. All the grade school arguments and spam should be banned. Followed a
science fiction newsgroup for a while. It was moderated by Nazis and was a
great place, if you were there for the books. All incoming messages were
filtered for content before they made it to the group. I'm on some mail
lists and they are like that, much nicer to follow. Look at the trouble the
clowns cause in the Mustang newsgroup. Makes me want to buy a Fiat:)

Very reasonable. I could enjoy a NG on BBs run like that.
I'm a fan of scifi too, also fantasy, like the sword and sorcerer stuff. I
thought I had died and went to heaven when Tolkiens trilogy was made into
movies! How could this NG be filtered first to take out the occasional BS?
It would have to go to a personal server first before Google archives it,
right?
