96 f150 check engine light

I have a 1996 f 150 with a 4.9L The check engine light is on. "system to
lean bank one and bank two"

I have already cleaned the injectors, changed the plugs and ran cleaner
through the gas tank. I changed over from conventional oil to mobil one.

Any ideas???

Re: 96 f150 check engine light

check the gasket between the upper and lower intake manifolds for a leak.
That gasket has a slight higher than average failure rate when older. Spay
bottle with course mist of water (safer) or carb spay will dramatically
change the idle when sucked in a leak. if not leaking check for any other
leaks.
Watch the carb spray around the distributor exspecially

Re: 96 f150 check engine light

Sounds like you need a new fuel pump. I just went through the same problem.
Cause was the fuel pump and one of the 02's
