96 Ranger, manual transmission sticks/pops

I have a 96 Ranger, 3.0L with manual 5-speed trans, 97K miles. After I
begin to drive the truck after it has been parked for an hour or more,
It will pop. I will engage brake/clutch, start engine, release e-brake,
fully disengage foot brake and ease out clutch. The truck will feel
like it is stuck and then suddenly pops and burst into motion.

Sounds like you have a brake caliper hanging up, or your e-brake is not
releasing properly. Have you tried parking it in gear (no brake) with the
same result?

Thanks, I never even thought that it might be the brakes.

The cable to the right rear wheel is notorious for hanging up.
