Engine was running erratically as if the fuel filter was plugged, then died.

I changed the gas filter but it still didn't start. Towed the truck to a repair center and they diagnosed the problem (for $75.00) to be the fuel pump. I changed the $250.00 fuel pump assembly including the screen and the truck still will not start. I checked the inertia switch and its' good.

Any ideas??
