Still having intermitant start up problems with my 94 ranger when warm. My
buddy says
I need an ignition module which is not cheap.Any opinions. What can a
failing ignition module do?
Thanks for your help.

After looking at your previous post, it doesn't appear you've taken anyone's
advice yet. Have you eliminated fuel pressure as the cause? Your 4.0 has
distributorless ignition. The ignition is controlled by the crankshaft
position sensor and the computer.

Have you even tested the fuel pressure when it's failing to start? It
sounds very much fuel related.
