HI I have a telstar 1990 TX5 Ghia and i was wondering if any one could help me in the Performance section. i'm not sure what i can to to get better Performance out of it. i'm looking at new ECU's and things like that. and it's the non turbo version so can anyone tell me what kind of turbo i should look into. and if i get a turbo do i need a new auto trans.
And little things like pod filters and a 2 inch exhaust and things like that.

I was looking for help on the same subject but with a 91. However you cant just bolt on a turbo to the NA TX5 due to different exhaust,timing etc. But you could just go out and get a TX5 turbo and put that in. I was looking into the Powerchip thing and apparently we can get an extra 8 kw and something 12 extra Nm for the cip which is bout $600. bit im sure exhaust etc will give something of better value.

But im sure things like exhaust,intake etc will give similar results for less. Does anyone know roughly the power and torque increase of adding an exhaust,air intake etc??

Also you cant just bolt on a turbo onto your engine cause they have different compression ratios,exhaust etc. i mean you can but itll only last like a week max probly. your best bet would be to pick up a turbo TX5 motor. However that'll probly cost a bit to buy and put in ad since they only offer an extra 16 kw it may end up just being cheaper and more effective to get exhaust,ECU,pod filter etc. Just my opinion but
