i got a mondeo :D guess what year...

anyway i have a problem, in my lower gears im gettin a flat spot, no accelleration, and it doesnt idle too well... now, this only seems to be happening after adding a Induction Kit, and using a low cost petrol from Morrisons petrol stations... so im thinking it may just be a low octane fuel that my car doesnt like drinking ...

Any help at all is welcome... just as long as you dont tell me to take my induction kit off heh...

Take your induction kit.....oh. Honestly, some of them can actually cause a reduction in power through drawing hot air from under the bonnet, this affects the MAF sensor and causes flat spots. If reverting to the standard set-up cures the fault, and you really need a kit, and if you haven't got a cold air induction system already, get one.

In the light of recent happenings at Morrisons and Tescos, and if you're in the South East, it's now possible you're one of the victims of contaminated fuel!

im up in East Kilbride (Glasgow) but i did only start havin problems with the power when filling up at morrisons... if i fill up at BP or Esso i tend to gain power after a couple of miles when the petrol is mixed but still seems slow on the take off, it seemed to clear after i swapped back to the orig ar filter, but it didnt clear fully, so i took the orig air filter off and the Air flow meter and its not makin a difference (whilst filling up at morrisons) filling up at esso / BP is still givin me a little more power but not much really, gonna wait for an update on the petrol problem....

You won't get instant recovery when swapping back to the standard set-up, the module takes a while to remap fuelling and ignition etc, maybe 10 miles over a wide range of driving conditions.
