1999 Contour Keyless Entry ... - Ford Forums

Hello everyone,

I have a 1999 Ford Contour and both of my Keyless entry remotes disappeared so I bought 2 new ones from ebay. They are supposedly from a 1998 SVT Contour and they look exactly like the remotes I had before.

My problem is that I cannot figure out how to program them. I have read that there is something behind the glove box I need to do, but I haven't been able to figure it out on my own. I tried the search function but only found some vague information (I may have missed something\typed the wrong words).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I don't know if it is the same as my 1999 Escort, but you could try it.
Place key in ignition and turn from off to on in rapid succession 8 times (within 10 seconds), ending in on. After doors lock/unlock, press any control on all transmillers. With each press of the transmitters, the doors should cycle lock/unlock to confirm programming.
