My 2000 contour quit on me while driving down the road. I was able to get a jump and it started again, but it quit on me after about two miles. I was told it could be my battery or my alternator. Or could it be something else?

Boost it again and put a multimeter on the battery, and see how many volts it says, should be between 13-15 depending on the car. If its 12 or lower your alternator needs to be replaced (and maybe your battery if its old).
