2000 mystique zetec missing
Im working on a 2000 mystique that has a random missing problem.
Car came to me running perfectly fine just neglected and a CE light for lean O2. With the owner reporting that it would randomly miss at cruise on the highway.
I changed the plugs and wires and noticed a pool of oil in the plug wells when I changed the plugs. (Over torqued valve cover need a new gasket) It made for a nice smoke show when I fired it back up.
Cleared the code and it hasent been back since. (probly 400 miles)
Well its back with missing again. Im told its very slight but I caint duplicate it its totally random. No code yet.
Im thinking a new valve cover gasket is first if there is oil in the plug wells.
I have never worked on a zetec motor before but my next step would be the coil correct? Or is there somthing else like a power transistor I need to look at first to fix the missing?
