2001 Mondeo Question - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hey, My Dad is thinking of getting a 01 Ford Mondeo Manual, 99% certain it will be the base model. There is one we looked at today and it was NZD$16,990 2.0 litre, Manual and had a bit over 50,000 k's on the count I think.

My Question is does anyone know of any problems with Mondeos, anything to look out for, basically say anything useful, from my research this is a very good price for them being a new-ish model, and hey my dad likes them so I'm keen for him to get a Ford.

nah dont really know a thing about them although a couple of years ago i seen one that was a race car and the body kit was totally kickarse.....since then i had considered buying one when i was looking for a car. im interested in hearing what your dad thinks when he gets it. style comfort ability and all the rest.

I take it this is the current shape Mondeo, if its a 2001 model. If thats the case, they are really a very good vehicle.
The 2.0L 16V DOHC duratec is a little gutless so dont get a auto(105kW/185Nm).

This Mondeo has won much praise for its ride & handling, I can't think of any major faults with them, they seem to be quite reliable.

Thats a good price to for low k's like that, I'd get a mechanical check done for piece of mind just to be sure, also a place like the AA would be aware of any common problems with them.
