I have a 97 contour that will not start. It turns over just fine but makes no attempt to start. My first thought was that the Ignition Control Module went out. I checked my repair manual and it shows where the ICM should be, as does Autozone's website, but it is not there. There is an empty area where the manual says the ICM should be, and there is no sign that there ever was anything there. So I moved on to the coil pack. I pulled it out and tested it, and all the coil resistances are within tolerance, per Autozone's website. Does anybody have insight as to why there would not be an ICM on a 97 countour, or where the best place to start looking for the cause would be?

Autozone list the location as; Under hood, center, rear engine area, mounted on upper firewall

Thanks, but the part just isn't there. Both Autozone and Hayes show the location where it should be, but its not there. I am thinking that the next place to look would be the crank sensor.

did you check for sparks . if you have sparks it could be fuel problem.
