99 contour water pump change - Ford Forums

Hi i was wondering how hard it is to change the water pump in my 99 contour? cause it leaks water down the block when its running.

Do i have to unbolt the motor mounts and pull one side of the motor up to get to it? it seems its in a very tight spot to get to

It's not very hard but there's a lot of fiddly work involved due to the lack of space. You will need to remove one of the engine mounts only, and I suggest that you also change the timing belt if coolant has been leaking on top of it for a while because I've seen them fail after a leak has been repaired. cheers
