beaker Registered User Join Date: Aug 2004 Posts: 1	alternator Hey.. my battery light came on today on the way home. I made it home (about 20mins) and the car still starts fine but I put a meter on the battery with the car running and only get 12.5 volts... so Im assuming its not charging. Is there anything else I can check or do I gotta throw an alternator on it? If i do, will any ford alternator work or whats the compatibility like? My car its a 98 merc mystique 4cyl. Thanks
