I have a 1996 Ford Contour and I am having the hardest time changing the CENTER brakelight. I am not sure if I am supposed to be in the rear window removing that plastic cover or in the trunk unswcrewing something. Please decribe the steps clearly. And how many lamps are needed for the center breaklight located in the rear window?

If it's the same as on my escort, you change it from inside the passenger area. If it doesn't have screws holding it in, then most likely has the pin you push in to release. It will look like a circle with a larger circle around it. Push in on the center of it,(it won't push in far) then pull out on the outer circle part. Hope this makes sense.
