On a long trip at a steady speed of 100 Km/hr. Check Engine light comes on for a short period of time and then goes out. This continues to perform this way for duration of the trip. Ruducing speed seems to reduce frequency of light coming on. How do I check the code?

You would need the list of codes. I don't now of how to get them for your year vehicle other than contacting the dealer. Hopefully someone else here will know them. If anyone knows the Contour codes for 95, they would be the same.

My assumpsion by what you descirbed is that it may be a senor or something is loose. Is your car carberated?
