hello folks i have a96 countour with a 2.0 . the trans shifts from 1st to 3rd some times it will go into second o/d light flashes on off what other trans will fit

Have you checked the codes? maybe you can fix what's wrong with yours. Has it been serviced? Sometimes that's all they need. How does the fluid look and smell? Burnt and brown?

yes the codes p0401 egr insuffient p0402 egr excessive p0732 gear2 incorrect,734gear 4incorrect ,741 tccstuck off had tranny flushed fluid looks smells good

took egr assembly off checked for carbon build up valve holds vac opens smooth did not chech from valve to thottle body

Often the MAF will give a poor running and shifting problem. There's a special cleaner for that. Try cleaning it, keep track of the codes, clear the codes and try driving it to see what happens.

cleaned maf engine light out for now only drove it to get parts for my ranger maybe 6 miles round trip still shifts funny and o/d light still flashes read somewhere that it could possibly be the inhibitor switch what do ya think anybody please i am about to junk contour annd ranger
