Hi All,

I have a 1998 Ford Contour with the 2.0 engine and when I shut the engine off, the fuel pressure quickly drops to zero. I have 32 psi running and 40 with vacuum disconnected. I read where it should maintain a pressure of 26 psi for 5 min. after shutting the engine off.

Do I have a bad fuel pump (check valve?), pressure regulator, injectors leaking into cylinder (is this possible?) or something else? There are no external signs of leaking.

How did you come to be checking the fuel pressure?

if u pull the return line off the pressure regulator and ints wet then the diaphram in it is bad, otherwise if not id start with a new pump moe than likely. if ur injectors were leaking that bad it would prolly have a hell of a time startin.
