hi there i have a 1985 ford telstar ghia 4 door sedan its not a tx5 and i blew a water hose from the bottom of the engine replaced that etc thought i had cooked the engine but i gather if i have done a head or head gasket i could not drive it right? what i want to know is the spark timing, can anyone help please???????????????? i really want to get my car going again cause i hate not having a car :driver: :hy:
You would still be able to drive it with a blown head gasket (I did with my old car for 3 months) depending if any damage was done to the motor when it overheated - how hot did it get when the hose blew or how long did it take to notice? Look for signs of oil in water or vice versa (brown emulsion crap), bubble in the radiator with the cap off and the engine running, etc.
