Hi guys, hope someone can put me right, i have a 4 year old 1.8 mondeo, 99000 miles, cars runs very, but, it does not matter how you drive it but it never smokes, and never drops any oil underneith, but it uses oil big time, 200 miles it may use the best part of a litre, any ideas,

If it's using lots of oil and there's no leaks, unless it's going into the coolant, then there must be some smoke evident. Check the expansion tank for oil and reassess for smoke/leaks.

Hi and thanks for the reply, this is the strange thing, not the slightest sign of smoke and coolant level ok and not leaking on the ramp, very strange i wondered if it was a ford thing, bloked breather or something.
