Mondeo central locking problem

My drivers door doesn't always unlock on the first attempt, and when locking the doors sometimes they unlick straight away.
I believe this is a solenoid problem and a quick solution is to spray WD40 onto the solenoid to repel any water.

Where is the solenoid located in the drivers door so I can spray it with WD40?

Re: Mondeo central locking problem

Is this manually or with the remote?

Re: Mondeo central locking problem

It's with the remote, I don't normally use the key in the lock.

Re: Mondeo central locking problem

I open the car up this morning with the key and everything worked ok. Also closing work fine, but it's only occasionally that the drivers door doesn't unlock or lock properly so I'm still unsure as to the problem

Re: Mondeo central locking problem

It seems to be the remote that's playing up as the door opened again without any problems earlier by using the key, but later the afternoon I used the remote and again the drivers door didn't open.

Does this point to a particular problem. If "yes" then what and where do I find the part to repair / replace.

Thanks
Mark

Re: Mondeo central locking problem

So are you saying on the remote only the drivers door doesn't open intermittent, or all doors?

Re: Mondeo central locking problem

Just the drivers door is intermittant using the remote, all other doors open ok with remote.
All doors operate noramally using the key in the drivers door

Re: Mondeo central locking problem

If you also have 'cycling' on the system I'd suspect the drivers door lock motor.

Re: Mondeo central locking problem

Hi im also having this problem on a 02 mondeo. sometimes it works sometimes it wont. What happens is I cant lock the car with the remote because it just locks then unlocks itself straight away. So I lock it with the key and all doors lock. If I use the remote to unlock it all doors unlock apart from the drivers door. What is the problem? Please help
