mondeo immobiliser problem

Hi again guys

Thanks again for helping me with my last problem now can anyone help me with this one. Everytime i lock my 94 mondeo from the drivers side with the key then reopen it with the key the immobilizer comes on the only way to cure this is by re locking the car from the passenger side then reopening it again to make the immobilizer go off so the result is i have to lock the car from the passenger side everytime and wait for the 3 bleeps then i know everything is fine then when i return to the car open it from the passenger side then all is well

thanks in advance

pete.....................

PS i don't have a remote for the car and never had one with it when i brought it

Re: mondeo immobiliser problem

Not as easy as your last job! Sounds like a faulty set/reset switch. It's located on the door lock itself, to remove this the complete latch and outer door handle needs to come off, should be a white switch with two plungers on it, one of which will be broken.

Re: mondeo immobiliser problem

Hi again Fordtech

Thanks again for getting back I haven't had a chance to look at this yet but the central locking works fine from the drivers side its just the immobilizer thats playing up so is this still the same problem could it be a bad connection on the door plug as was suggested to me from a guy at work who had a similar problem on his mondeo he just sprayed some WD40 on his and it was fine but probably not the same in my case what do you think.

thanks in advance

Re: mondeo immobiliser problem

The switch is actually for the alarm system, we've seen umpteen of them go down. A bloke at work said, indeed! Have ye no faith, man?!
