Mondeo lives!!???

did anyone also notice how in the focus article (herald sun) that the Mondeo got a mention......

"Ford Australia have been testing the Ford mid sized Mondeo. Dust covered new mondeos have been seen on Victoeian roads, but Polites says there are NO plans to bring the car here"

Why would you bother importing the car and testing it if you werent going to bring it in or at the least be evaluating it.

Also polites confirms he wants fiesta but is facing the same problem focus had with limited supply

Ford would always be on the lookout for cars that would fit in this market - doesn't mean they import them all tho ...

Oh, should also mention I have driven the 2001 Estate Mondeo we have here. Great car, once you get used to the fact it is LHD and manual (ever tried that on our roads?)

There are three Mondeos at the Ford Geelong plants. They looks macco. There is also a red Mondeo driving around Geelong. Pple import them from NZ because of the exchange rate.

Cars could also be left over from hot weather & dust sealing tests, that for some reason they can't do in Europe! :)

if a car is imported, doesnt it have to be complianced if it is less than 15 years old? i know this is the case in WA. i was going to import one of the last rover mini coopers last year, but when i started to ring around, my mechanic warned me it was a lot of trouble and expense. would it be worth it on a mondeo?

ST220, from what Ive read is a great car, and it should eat a vectra and camry (same class?) for breakfast.

But like what someone else said they could be here just for hot weather testing. I doubt we will see them here anyway.
