Hello,
Cool site! My question for the day is... My friend has a 95 Contour that has a problem with the blower for the heater. When you turn the switch to defrost it blows for a couple of seconds and quits blowing air, although it sounds like it is still working. All other settings seem to produce nothing. Perhaps the switch is bad? Any suggestions? Thanks!

It sounds like a vacuum pressure problem, check that side of things out (I do not know the car in question at all, just trying to help)

Try www.contour.org for HEAPS of info on the contour. Look in the common problems/FAQ section, or go to the boards and post a question. I'd be staggered if you didnt get the answer you need.

Occasionally there is a problem with the water pump on the V6 models, that commonly you notice when the heater plays up. It usually means the car's overheating, but because of the the way the temperature sensor is loacted, you dont know until the engine seizes.

Is your mate's a 4 or V6?

not that long ago they sent out a recall for my heater/blower on my 97 contour. i would check and see if there might be something wrong with it
