I would think this to be interesting too. (unless there is to be a "for offroad use only" disclaimer [of course there will be], but if your using offroad why run cats at all??)
Is all you really do is log on here to talk rot why bother logging on at all? You come on a throw the same stuff around once a month roughly. Let me get this straight, your saying that no cat in this country is compliant with the standards if it isnt factory fitted?

I said nothing of the sort.
Any cat can be "compliant" as long as the relevant emissions levels are below the prescribed standard. In fact it is not an issue about whether a cat is compliant or not, it is a vehicle that must be compliant.

I do not see why my contributions to this forums are "rot". I am an enthuisiast like all of you, i try to add valid posts where i think i can contribute for the benefit of others.
I am pleased that you remember me (despite the irregularity of my posts), it means that i must have had you thinking at times.

The truth is, that while we all like our cars to be fast, we also like the ability to breath the air that is all around us.
I was trying only to point out that catalysts are important parts of our vehicles, and that ultimate flow is not necessarily what is best for all of us in the long run.
Please dont get me wrong, I would not bother posting here if i didnt respect your knowledge and abilities in the performance field. In fact it is good to see an aftermarket company promoting and researching the use of catalytic converters rather than simply promoting their removal.

My post was not an attack on you or what you are doing, but you still havn't answered my questions?

According to the cats manufacturer the cats i have been testing are suposedly a higher emission compliant cat then we currently use standard.

As for the actual testing of the emisions on the vehicles themselves after tuning i havent done any such tests, I will look into doing so, As for removal of the cats, Not on your life, i wouldnt dream of it, hence my endeavour to try and find one that will flow and increase performance to help ppl see you can keep them on and still make good power.

Re: Cat Flow testing

Did anyone see the new ZOOM magazine?

I havent but someone told me there is a release article about a new type of 3" high flow cat that has some sort of STEEL internal?

I think this would be perfect for turbo cars since the excessive heat generated by the turbo has a tendancy to eat the standard high flow cats away internally.

Anyone got any more info on this???

Re: Cat Flow testing

Gday Simon

Is this new cat much larger than the current availble cats (ie. difillipo)? A set of big wide ones would be ideal, similar to what Porsche has but there isnt a great deal of room underneath with the BA's
