I have had the Xtreme upgrade for about 4 weeks now. Have been really enjoying how strong she pulls (and sounds) but today was the first chance I have had to try out another aspect of the tune. I have just come back from a cruise Perth to Capel (coast road) and back (SW highway). I decided to see what sort of fuel consumption I would get on the highway with the new tune.
Bugger me you could have knocked me over with a feather!!! there and back about 480km and I still had a quarter of a tank. The trip computer registered an average fuel consumption of 10.7l/100km... I could not believe it. The thing is that I have a BP fuel card (she only drinks Ultimate) and every quarter the drivers statement agrees closely with what the onboard computer is indicating so I have no reason to doubt it.
I drove at the speed limit between 110 and 115 Kmh in sixth most the way and accelerated normally... not going mad. It was all so effortless and she only went into boost when I was overtaking. I am gobsmaked at the fuel economy I did not think I would get anything like this. I just had to share.......... I know the GT is an effortless long distance cruiser but I dont think it would be able to reach this sort of economy.
Simon I reckon you should call this the Dr. Jekel/Mr. Hyde tune..... its up to the driver which mode she runs
cheers
Peter

So Peter, when r u going to get "The Clutch" and tune her properly
Have been following your progress since the dyno day (Remember me ) We will have to catch up for a ride. My ute is still making me horny and cant get enough, I am also addicted to the power, up to 273rwkw at the moment doing 13.6 quarters at 105mph. And before ya say it, I have 2 more cylinders than you so there :).
I am going for a tickle up soon hopefully with Xtreme. I want 290rwkw then I will be happy. (Untill blowers are cheeper )
Seriously, had a good time last time we caught up should do it again

Hello John,
Yes I remember that dyno day, I had a ball meeting you and all the fellow ford nuts. Good to hear that your working on that lovely ute of yours. I can recommend Simon if you want an edit, I am happy with his results on my girl and the main thing he knows these Girls back to front and wont rest until he has your girl just how you want her.
Iam also keeping on eye on your thread in the other forum.... if I am in town at the time you can count me on any event you organise for us sandgropers......
And I know how you feel about your ute, my girl is just 1 year old now and I am already just short of 35K on the clock.
cheers
Peter
