[quote=flappist]Well if the ULP is of the "western sydney" varity then paint thinner, and almost any other hydrocarbon that is sitting around. If it is "woolies fuel" it contains 30% distilled farts........[quote]

Why are drugs and sex with 13 year olds legal in some european countries, coz they want to allow it.....
Why do they do this, ask them........

It has been banned because it was linked to causing a high levels off leukaemia once ULP was introduced into there country (Switzerland and I think the other was Sweden).

But what I suspect that you are snidely trying to get at is "ethanol is nice for the planet and will save whales, reverse global warming, bring on world peace and cost 20c per litre so how could it possibly be corrosive?"
|
Yes I know Ethanol is a corrosive, but it is not as bad as Toluene (Methyl Benzene), AKA Paint stripper. you can not tell me that paint stripper is not corrosive. Ethanol I a better product for our health and planet and Australia produce farmers. The cost off manufacturing Ethanol is cheap and the fuel is renewable.
Quote:
Brake fluid is corrosive... spill some on your paint and see for yourself, but brake systems are designed to contain it so it is not corrosive to them.
Water is corrosive..... you know that brown stuff... but your cooling system is designed to contain water so it is not corrosive to it.
Battery acid is corrosive.... you get the idea.....
|
Yes I have got the Idea. However Toluene is a far worse corrosive then Ethanol. Also A number of AU, BA And FPV owner from the other Aust forum have contacted ford and FPV, and there reply was "yes E10 is fine to use, It will not void your warranty or destroy the fuel system in your car".
Flappist do us all a small favor. Contact FPV for yourself and let us now what the out come was.

Your fuel system is designed to contain PETROL (gasoline), not brake fluid, not water, not battery acid and NOT ETHANOL......
When fuel systems are manufactured to contain ethanol then you can use it but until then.... stick with what it was designed for....
|
Our fuel systems are already designed to except ethanol. So it is a green light for ethanol.

Simple really, just use logic instead of dogma and you will be ok......

I have done. Alot of the stigma about Ethanol has been brought about by ACA and TT. The attacks also were about the higher then safe levels of toluene that the small operaters were putting into the fuel to make some extra profit.
