YTRY4 i passed you a couple of time on/around the Warwick road in duncraig. If that was you?

I drive the Blueprint Pursuit T3 ute and live close by.... Do you live out that way or just driving by?
Be nice to catchup as my Rapid F6 Tornado ute as well will be here in a week or so.

Tornado
From what I have read on the forums , I don't think there are any other options than Simon for edit tuning, no one else seems to be bothered trying to spend this amount of time to get maximun performace from cars with the edit.

I can understand you wanting all the numbers , but talk to a few people & make up you're mind. I think, if Simon is willing to allow you to watch dyno session, unless you are a practicing brain surgeon in the middle of an op make an excuse from work, get to the dyno session & get you're answer.
The offer alone would be enough to convince me.
Simon is the man for the edit. Not even the importer seems to put the same amount of time into getting the best result.

Why should he post up A/F changes, I wouldn't give, my trade secrets away either.

I know this seem like a payed endorsement. But Hey & I'm not even a customer of Simons.

JUST MY 2 CENTS WORTH.

Brett

Re: Flashing the F6 ?

Thanks Brett, I would love for Greg to join my on the dyno with his car. I myself would be very worried about anyone having my car aswell. Tornado, dont think i have taken offence to anything. I didnt. YOu have every right to pose questions. I just seem to be a little suprised at how you posed them as we have had a few phone conversations and thought if you had a qorry about anything you might have picked up the phone and talked to me like we have done many times.

Anyways, just got back from the dyno from The Rapid beast. It made 285 rwkw's we backed it back to 280 odd till i get the cat fitted as its hard to keep the boost happy in this current set up.

Re: Flashing the F6 ?

I'm not sure I need convincing at all......
Quite simply no one in Aus has tuned as many F6's as Simon has that I know of so from where I sit Simon is probably well advanced than most, in fact probably far more advanced than most.

Lots want to get their hands on one to play with I can assure you of that, but do any of us want to do that or just simply use Simons expertise?

The only thing I don’t like is from what I can ascertain is the Edit and maps are open to abuse.
Sadly anyone can poach a map and pirate all Simon’s good work and long hours in a flash. (Excuse the pun)

The problem I think most of us have is not enough info is publicly available at present on the F6 to know what we want from Simon or anyone for that matter. It’s been done to death on most sites with the XR6T but as your all aware not much on the F6 and as such questions must be asked which I have done.

I am still personally unsure as to what level I will go and am thinking that maybe just the Edit to start and when more info is readily available then maybe go to the next step.

I suppose I like many just need some info to excite us to just DO IT

Hey mate. Ok heres what i can tell you. With what ive done from the cars ive done i can tell you that 260 is the limit that the stock injector will give. Ive seen 285 rwkw with a stock car that has injectors only. You already have a good cai stock on the car so when it comes to really making it go you need to do the Cat and zorst and injectors. This will see you over the 300 rwkw mark.

With the stock injectors you will find you will get around the 260 mark and the a/f ratios will be going into the 12's.

So a good plan would be
1) run with the edit from new at 260rwkws.
2) after 3000km service go to injectors Cat and Zort and sit it on 300rwkws.

Re: Flashing the F6 ?

Good to see some banter on this subject...

My only questions are, if any one knows for sure....

Are the 968 injectors/drilled stock injectors 42Lb's??
Is a 3" dump/ exhaust enough, (twin 2 1/2" = 3.5") ??
What rpm limit is used??
Have u used the launch control feature yet?

Cheers..
