6 Speed Auto Update? - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

A couple of questions about the upcoming 6 speed auto and the Edit.

Firstly; I would assume the Edit will be updated for the new box but when? What sort of delay after the box hit's are we looking at?

Secondly; For owners of the present 4 speed auto Edit what will the process be to get updated and will there be a cost?

Jim, I would say it would be as simple as sending you box of tricks away to someone to reprogram for the 6 speed, the box will have to be reset to suit the new vehicle anyway so if you go a base tune with a 6 speed box you should get out of it pretty cheap.

Hi mate, yeh I was going to do that but also I got word from SCT they are going to be on top of the new auto! So that's good news.

Makes the new auto more attractive, I think I'll end up swapping from the manual.?? Maybe?

I wouldnt even think about the manual, you will lose alot of time changing gears.

We had the typhoon in our system before the first one was delivered.. cant see why the new 6 speed would be any different mate.

Sound's good mate! I think I'm just about sold on the new auto, make the missus happy too ( although I was trying to keep her out of the new one! )
